|opis:||Solution’s innovation: The cranial endoprosthesis is equipped with a sliding system which allows the fixation of the device onto the cranial surface without screws or rivets, limiting the deterioration of the cranial plate, thus reducing complications. The endoprosthesis is composed of two interlocking layers, one fixed and one mobile. The mobile layer is actioned through a special action key which propagates movement through the conjugate cell surfaces. Individual cells slide onto each other using custom conjugate surfaces, displacement being distributed in the direction in which the key is acted. The mobile layer is impregnated with bioceramic substances that accelerate the osteointegration process, namely calcium phosphate or hydroxyapatite. Besides stimulating the osteointegration process, the bioceramic coating of mobile cells provide a solid interface between the cranial endoprosthesis and the bone tissue, with a high degree of sealing. The upper and lower layers of mobile cells are provided with slots for orientation and positioning of the fastening system.

Implementation and commercialization of the endoprosthesis is made accessible through the chosen manufacturing method, namely additive manufacturing. Additive manufacturing technologies with metal powders are used (eg. SLM, DMLS, EBM, BJ etc.), the target materials being medically graded titanium alloys. All CAD files are parametric and ready to use by any potential manufacturer. The geometrical characteristics of the implant allow manufacture of both single part production and medium series production. Depending on the end user, the CAD file allows the cranial endoprosthesis to be defined for a specific application.
