|opis:||Solution’s innovation: The technical problem solved by the invention consists in the realization of a cranial implant which covers the cranial bone defect and provides a tight seal thereof, is biocompatible and doesn’t generate artefacts in CT and RMN scans, is resistant to biomechanical demands and to functional demands, and easy to handle and apply by the surgical practitioner. All implant elements have a porous microstructure that favours the absorption of osteointegrating substances which promotes regeneration of the bone tissue and also the easy fixation to the human skull. Also, the cranial implant presents a selenium nanostructured surface by immersion in the reaction medium, starting with the precursor NaHSeO3 (sodium hydrogen selenite) and using as redactors different glucoside molecules (amidine, lactose, galactose and fructose), generating a hydrothermal reaction. The optimised ratio between NaHSeO3 / glucoside is 1:4 (w/w) for amidine, 1:6 for lactose and 1:12 (w/w) for galactose and fructose. The reactants are mixed with a magnetic stirrer, obtaining a colloidal substance. The cranial implant is immersed in a recipient containing the aforementioned substance and is afterwards exposed to a series of “in situ” chemical reactions, in an autoclave at 1200C for 10 minutes. The implant is washed with deionized water, cleaned in an ultrasonic bath for 5 minutes then dried.
Description and presentation of invention:
The invention relates to the structure and fastening method of a mesh implant with functional coatings having the role of osteointegration, used for cranioplasties and reconfigurations of major cranial defects. The implant made of pure Ti or a biocompatible Ti alloy with osteointegration structures, consists of two layers, one fixed and the other movable, interconverted so that translations in two perpendicular directions can be made while maintaining the fixed layer.
