The acetabular milling device is designed to be used for hip arthroplasty surgeries for which high precision is required. The geometry of the active edges ensures the controlled direction of the bone chips within the collecting cup through the milling tooth profile, for which the angle of alignment (α) is greater than the angle of clearance (γ). In addition to the rotation of the front milling cutter, the acetabular milling device allows a translational motion on the Z axis of the milling body (longitudinal to the body of the rod), limited to the distance defined by the height of the osteophyte acetabular formations, in the range of 0 to 2 mm. The central rod is provided with internal suction channels, positioned at an inclined angle in relation to the rods’ axis, in order to facilitate the removal of bone chips, blood and other residue from the surgical site. By allowing adjustment of the displacement in relation to the patient anatomy, preoperative management planning is much easier and precise, leading to shorter surgical time and fewer postoperative complications.
