|opis:||Because my grandparents are both deaf, I invented this Deaf Pager. We live together and I notice that they encounter some problems in their daily life. Sometimes when I come home after school, though my grandparents are at home, no one answers the doorbell. I think it happens the same when some visitors come to our house.
This Deaf Pager is actually an alarm for the deaf. Since the deaf can't hear anything, I would like to use something other than sound to alert them that someone is at the door. I found out that the deaf are sensitive to light and flicker. If there are LED lights on the wall and a vibrator installed on the table, when someone rings the doorbell, the LED lights will shine and the vibrator will vibrate.
After the discussion with my mentor, we decided to use Arduino Uno as the network-centric of the system to connect the LED lights and vibrator to electric rely to make it work. Once the doorbell is rung, Arduino will send signal to the electric rely to activate the LED light and vibrator. Then the deaf can see the flicker and feel the vibration to know that they have visitors.We also use CorelDRAW and 3D modeling to design our work. Finally we use laser beam cutting machine and 3D printer to create our work.
