|opis:||Trash is one of the problems faced by many countries, especially developing countries with dense population. Waste production is generated from various activities of daily human activities which are unwittingly increasing day by day. Research shows that the generation of waste produced by a village is 439.9 kg / day which is dominated by plastic waste by 41.1%, leaves 35.1% and paper 23.8%. The results of research on kitchen waste show the dominance of organic waste by 72.14%.Organic waste is one type of waste that is produced by many people, especially households. Organic waste produced by households has the potential to be an innovation that has high benefits and can be commercialized, one of which can be processed into liquid fertilizer. Unfortunately, the processing of organic waste into liquid compost by households is still relatively small (7%).
This study concluded that the modification of 10% EM4 concentration and the volume of spraying of 10% EM4 solution as much as 20 sprays per new waste input was able to increase the speed and production of liquid organic compost from household organic waste. Modification of 1-inch outlet diameter (effective 1.5 cm) can improve operational performance when harvesting liquid organic compost. Composter unit capable of producing 94.5 liters of liquid compost that is used by one household for 4 months in the operational.
