The present invention relates to an adsorbent material and to a process for obtaining it, used to reduce the level of organic pollutants in aqueous solutions, at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure. The adsorbent obtained according to the invention eliminates the disadvantages of current approaches, in that it is presented in the form of a powder, having a specific surface area between 35-55 m2/g, with the crystallites size below 25 nm and the method of obtaining it is easily scalable to industrial scale. The technical problem that the invention solves consists in making a type of adsorbent intended for the removal of some organic micro-pollutants (originating from industrial processes or from the use of pharmaceutical products) from aqueous solutions, at ambient temperature, atmospheric pressure and neutral pH values. The proposed solution, according to the invention, removes the disadvantages of current approaches in that it is a material with increased capacity to depollute organic micro-pollutants, cheap, uses compounds whose synthesis is fast, economical, and without negative impact on the environment and health human. The invention presents the following advantages from the point of view of the adsorbent used: - it is stable and allows the adsorption of organic micropollutants in conditions similar to real ones (ambient temperature, atmospheric pressure and neutral pH); - it is reproducible from the point of view of the physical-structural properties; - it is obtained by known processes, without requiring high production costs; - does not present secondary pollution (mud, ash, etc.) - it can also be used in case of accidental pollution, with high pollutant concentrations.
