This invention addresses the problem of stenosis in kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis. Chronic kidney disease affects approximately 10% of the world's population, and in Thailand alone, 8 million patients suffer from this condition. Stenosis of the access vascular can make hemodialysis difficult for these patients, leading to increased morbidity and medical costs. However, a new stent made from nickel-titanium (NiTi) is now available, providing an alternative to using balloons for opening up narrowed or blocked blood vessels. The stent's braiding pattern offers flexibility and conformability to the shape of the blood vessel, while its blunt distal design reduces the risk of damaging the blood vessel. This stent not only improves blood flow and provides support for the vascular system during procedures like dialysis, but also offers size customization to fit the anatomical characteristics of Asian patients. The development of local stent production in the region has helped to increase access to medical devices and reduce costs for patients.
